Elle Fanning has not shied away from talking about her love for boyfriend Gus Wenner.
The actress, who earned her first Oscar nomination for her role in Sentimental Value ahead of the 2026 show, has been dating the music executive since 2023. The couple first sparked romance rumors when they were spotted holding hands in November of that year.
Fanning and Wenner made their relationship official when they attended the 81st annual Golden Globe Awards together in January 2024 and have been going strong ever since. In January 2026. Fanning said that Wenner is "the best" in an interview with Who What Wear.
"We want to be a part of each other's lives and share these fun times and experiences together," Fanning said. When the outlet noted that the Sentimental Value star is open about the couple's relationship on social media, she replied, "Why hide? The future looks bright."
She added, "I definitely do want kids. I've always wanted kids. I've known that since I was little."

He’s the son of one of Rolling Stone’s co-founders

Wenner is the son of Jane Schindelheim and Jann Wenner, who co-founded Rolling Stone. In a 2022 Father's Day post honoring Jann, Wenner called his father his “best friend” and “mentor.”
Back in 2015, he posted a birthday tribute to his dad on Instagram, writing, “I remember when I didn't know how smart you were, when I was a kid, and you were just my dad. Now I know you are brilliant. And you are still my dad, first and foremost. But you are also my greatest teacher. I learn from you everyday. From up close. From a far. And I'm so [f---in] lucky to have you.”
He was the executive chairman of Rolling Stone and founded Wenner Media Ventures

In January 2022, Wenner was named chief executive officer of Rolling Stone, per Adweek. Prior to becoming CEO, he was president and chief operating officer, a role he had held since 2017, according to his PMC bio.
However, in May 2025, Rolling Stone announced that Wenner would be transitioning into the role of executive chairman, with Julian Holguin as the new CEO. The two worked together on the brand's strategic goals.
In an interview with Brown Alumni Magazine, Wenner shared that he took a “lowly” entry-level job at Rolling Stone the summer after he graduated from the Ivy League school in 2012.
He recalled his father telling him, “Just so you know, this is going nowhere,” to which Wenner said he replied, “I know. I don’t want it to. I just want to learn for a year and then move on.”
He also told the outlet that in “any industry, if you get your foot in the door, you still have to walk through it ... and especially for publishing and print media.”
Wenner noted, “it was not a forgiving place,” adding, “The bottom line was always that if we were able to show gains and results and make that transition [to digital], then let’s do it. And we did.”
In January 2026, The Hollywood Reporter reported that Wenner was launching an investment firm, Wenner Media Ventures. As part of the investment strategy, the company invested in the social media company Public Opinion and Wenner became its executive chairman.

He and Fanning were first linked in 2023

Although it's not known when they initially started dating, Fanning and Wenner were first seen together publicly in November 2023 when they were photographed walking hand-in-hand in New York City.
According to Page Six, which obtained photos of the couple’s outing, Fanning and Wenner ate at The Waverly Inn with Lorde, Annabelle Dexter Jones and his brother, Theo Wenner.
He was in a band with one of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore’s daughters

Wenner was one-half of the folk-rock band Gus + Scout. Fanning’s boyfriend formed the band with Demi Moore and Bruce Willis’ daughter Scout Willis while at Brown. The musical duo released their self-titled debut EP in 2012.
“We were only ever really friends at a very, very young age, and then were only just aware of each other in adolescence,” Scout said of her and Wenner's relationship during an interview with W Magazine in 2012. “It wasn’t until my freshman year at Brown that we connected in a real way and began playing music together,”

Wenner accompanied Fanning to the 2024 Golden Globes — the award show marked the pair’s first red carpet event as a couple. Following the ceremony, the duo attended Vas Morgan and Michael Braun's afterparty in Los Angeles, with the actress swapping the cream strapless dress she wore on the red carpet for an elegant low-cut black gown with a white flower detail.
Days after the Globes, Wenner shared a series of photos of himself and Fanning in their Globes attire seemingly heading to the ceremony. Fanning commented on the post with a red heart emoji, while Scout wrote, “The most gorgeous couple!!”
He’s Fanning’s “funny Valentine”

Fanning celebrated Valentine's Day 2024 with a tribute to her beau.
On her Instagram, the We Bought a Zoo actress shared a picture of Wenner sporting sunglasses as he lounged on a boat.
"My funny Valentine🏹💕🙈," she captioned the photo. Wenner reacted to the post with three purple heart emojis.
Bob Dylan is his “hero”
Wenner has previously dubbed Grammy winner Bob Dylan his “hero. Forever and always.”
In his 2024 interview with Brown Alumni Magazine, Wenner also revealed that a day he spent with the “Mr. Tambourine Man” singer when he was 8 or 9 years old stands out as one of his favorite memories.
Wenner said, “I was able to relate with him on a very pure level because I was too young to really know” how famous Dylan was.
Years earlier, while speaking to W Magazine in 2012, Wenner shared that he started to fall in love with Dylan when he was around 13.
He admitted, “His music affected me on an emotional level like I didn’t know possible, and it opened the door to a whole history of country and blues music that has made me who I am as a person, and definitely as a songwriter.”
