The end of 2025 is near, and so is the finalization of the beloved Netflix series "Stranger Things."
The "Stranger Things" Season 5 finale is a two-hour long movie called "Rightside Up." The series conclusion premieres on Netflix and in hundreds of movie theaters on Wednesday, Dec. 31.
The movie's title is a play on The Upside Down, the thought-to-be decaying parallel world that mirrors Hawkins, Indiana, introduced in Season 1. However, as unraveled throughout Season 5, The Upside Down may be different than viewers originally thought.
The series' final season hasn't been loved by all fans, with some arguing the story isn't propelling forward. However, fans are holding out for a new animated spinoff series, "Stranger Things: Tales from '85" to premiere in 2026. The new series takes place between Seasons 2 and 3, featuring the main characters Eleven, Max, Mike, Lucas, Dustin, Will and Hopper. New actors will step in to voice the roles though.
