Timothy Olyphant bleached his hair and eyebrows for Alien: Earth.

The Justified star said his “wife’s not a huge fan of” his makeover.

Olyphant said that his wife suggested, “You know, you could put makeup on.”

Timothy Olyphant underwent an extreme makeover for Alien: Earth — and his wife doesn’t love it.

The Justified star bleached his hair and his eyebrows for his role on the FX sci-fi series, which is currently filming its second season. Olyphant told Seth Meyers that he personally likes his look in an interview on Late Night.

“I kinda dig it,” he said. “I kinda feel like it’s a little bit of a Billie Joe Armstrong-y kind of — I kinda dig the look.”

However, Olyphant’s wife, Alexis Knief, doesn’t care for the transformation. “My wife’s not a huge fan of it,” he explained, noting that he covers his bleached eyebrows with brow gel when appearing in public.

“The reason I discovered the brow gel is because every time I would get dressed to go out with her, I invariably do that thing that I’ve never stopped doing for 35 years, which is like, ‘Honey, how’s this look?’” he shared. “And then she would just look at me and go, ‘It’s just the eyebrows.’”

Olyphant said that he didn’t start using brow gel until season 2. “So this year, it just occurred to me, I didn’t do it at all season 1. I just went around everywhere with white eyebrows, my apologies, honey,” he said. “But this year I was like, ‘Oh wait, brow gel.’”

The Deadwood alum later gave his wife credit for the idea. “I think actually she said, ‘You know, you could put makeup on,’” he said.

Olyphant portrays Kirsh, a synthetic android who works for the Prodigy Corporation, on the sci-fi series, which serves as a prequel to Ridley Scott’s 1979 classic Alien.

The Scream 2 star previously told Entertainment Weekly how the show’s creator, Fargo mastermind Noah Hawley, suggested his physical makeover for the series. “That was Noah’s idea and I f---ing hate him for it,” Olyphant joked.

He later took credit for the idea himself, noting that he wanted to create a distance between himself and his castmates, just as Scott cast English actor Ian Holm as the synthetic Ash in the original Alien.

“They put a British guy in that role, right? Everybody else is American. This just separates him in some way,” Olyphant explained. “We’re playing with the same rules, right? We knew we wanted to do something that separated him. The best idea I had was the hair. I was like, ‘That’s all I got. We could f--- with the hair.’”

However, Hawley was the one who suggested, “If you f--- with the hair, you gotta do the eyebrows.”

Olyphant also explained his approach to playing a synthetic character. “I knew that it probably called for making some strong choices that weren’t comfortable,” he told EW. “You’re playing a synthetic, and to some degree, you feel like you gotta do a little something, something. It’s not just memorize your lines and show up. It’s superficial, but you wanna do a little something with the look, you wanna do a little something with the voice or the mannerisms. That process was fun trying on different things for size.”
