Pete Davidson is looking back at his relationship with Kim Kardashian, whom he dated after the reality star and Ye — the rapper formerly known as Kanye West — got divorced.

Davidson and Kardashian dated from October 2021 to August 2022.

“I have a lot of love for her, and I knew what I was getting into,” the comedian said of their relationship.

Pete Davidson didn’t mince his words when discussing ex-girlfriend Kim Kardashian and her ex-husband Ye.

While reflecting on his personal and professional life, the comedian said he made things easier for the reality star to date after her divorce from the rapper formerly known as Kanye West.

“I like to think I got that one out of the way for her because whoever that guy was going to be was gonna get it,” Davidson told Variety. “I cleared the path for her to get back into the dating pool.”

The Saturday Night Live alum recalled the rapper threatening him on Instagram after their relationship went public. “What tripped me out is I was super open about mental stuff — everyone knows this about me — and it’s like he was [saying], ‘Kill yourself.’ And he did push me,” Davidson admitted.

Entertainment Weekly reached out to a representative for Ye and did not receive an immediate response.

Kardashian and Ye began dating in 2012. They got married in 2014. She filed for divorce from the rapper in February 2021, which was finalized in November 2022. They share four children: North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm.

Davidson and the reality star started dating in October 2021 after connecting on Saturday Night Live when she made her hosting debut. During the show, they shared a kiss in an Aladdin-themed sketch.

After less than a year of dating, they called it quits in August 2022. “Part of the reason they split was because of their busy schedules,” an insider told PEOPLE at the time. “They both travel all the time and it was hard.”

The comedian, who stars in the upcoming David Leitch-directed film How to Rob a Bank, also admitted that being part of the greater Kardashian-Jenner family during their relationship wasn’t easy.

“I’m one of the survivors — the few and the proud. We’re like the Marines,” Davidson said.

“Look, man, that’s a really tough atmosphere if you’re not game. One of the things I love about Kim and that whole family is they’re like, ‘This is what we do.’ I found that very attractive and mature,” he continued.

“And I was never subjected to anything I didn’t want to be a part of,” he clarified. “She was super respectful of all of it, but the craze of that lifestyle — being followed everywhere, having security and looking over your shoulder — for a guy with mental stuff, and at the time drug problems, was a little too much for me.”

Davidson concluded that he and Kardashian are “cool,” adding: “I have a lot of love for her, and I knew what I was getting into.”

Davidson previously praised Kardashian’s acting skills after the SKIMS founder appeared on American Horror Story: Delicate and All’s Fair.

“Isn’t it crazy Kim’s good at acting?” Davidson said during a May 2026 conversation with Nikki Glaser on Netflix’s The Pete Davidson Show.

“I remember when we were dating, one day she was just like, ‘I think I’m gonna be an actress.’ And I was just like, ‘F--k yeah!’ And then [she’s] just good at it and I’m like, ‘Get the f--k out of here.’ She’s so good at acting.”
