New details are emerging about the death of Martin Short's daughter, Katherine.

The official death certificate for the Three Amigos star's daughter, which was published by TMZ, states that Katherine was cremated after she died by suicide at 42 last week.

The document states that Katherine died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, and that there were no other significant conditions that contributed to her death.

The death certificate also stated that the specific date and time of her injury were both unknown, though a report from the County of Los Angeles Medical Examiner's office listed Monday, Feb. 23 as the date of Katherine's death.

Entertainment Weekly has reached out to representatives for Martin Short for comment.

A representative for the Only Murders in the Building star previously provided a statement to EW that confirmed Katherine's untimely death.

"It is with profound grief that we confirm the passing of Katherine Hartley Short," the statement said. "The Short family is devastated by this loss, and asks for privacy at this time. Katherine was beloved by all and will be remembered for the light and joy she brought into the world."

The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a call from a house in Hollywood Hills around 6:41 p.m. on Feb. 23, PEOPLE previously reported. The call concerned a woman in her early forties, and the Los Angeles Police Department told the outlet that the call regarded a possible suicide.

Martin Short and his wife, actress Nancy Dolman, adopted three children together: Katherine, born 1983; Oliver, born 1986; and Henry, born 1989. Dolman died of ovarian cancer in 2010.

Katherine earned her bachelor's degree in psychology and gender sexuality studies from New York University in 2006. She then studied social work from the University of Southern California, working at the pro bono law firm Public Counsel during the first year of her studies before earning her master's degree in 2010.

Katherine trained at the West L.A. Veterans Administration, worked at UCLA's Resnick Neuropsychiatric Hospital, and also served on staff at the dual-diagnosis outpatient program Camden Center. She later worked at a private practice as a licensed clinical social worker, and provided mental health resources and community outreach at the clinic Amae Health, where she worked part time.

Following Katherine's death, Short skipped the 2026 Actor Awards ceremony, where he was nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series. Seth Rogen ultimately won in that category for The Studio.

The Clifford star also postponed two live comedy shows he was set to perform with frequent collaborator Steve Martin in Milwaukee and Minneapolis at the end of February. Tickets for those shows will be honored when the shows are rescheduled for a future date.
